研究室主要开展芝麻、蓖麻、胡麻、向日葵、苏子、红花等特色油料作物研究,包含芝麻种质资源、芝麻遗传育种和特色油料等3个课题组,现有研究和支撑人员28人,其中高级职称8人,博士8人,中国农业科学院创新工程团队首席1人,国家芝麻、胡麻产业技术体系岗位专家3人,负责国家芝麻与特色油料种质资源中期库的建设和运转。已承担项目或课题40余项,在分子生物学研究方面取得较大进展,率先完成了芝麻基因组物理图谱构建和结构解析,发掘出一批重要应用价值的优异种质和基因资源,创建了多组学大数据应用平台,发表论文120余篇,育成品种37个,主编著作9部,获国家发明专利授权7项、省级成果6项,为我国芝麻和特色油料产业做出了重要贡献。

研究方向
研究方向1:芝麻与特色油料作物种质资源研究
  开展芝麻、蓖麻、向日葵、苏子、红花等种质资源收集、编目、繁种入库和鉴定工作。已收集保存来源世界40余国家和我国30余省的资源,其中芝麻7910份、蓖麻2719份、红花2797份和向日葵3016份,建立了国家芝麻与特油资源中期库(实物库)和包含30余万项次信息的数据库,构建了中国芝麻、蓖麻、苏子等核心收集品,发掘和创制出高产、优质、抗病、抗逆、株型紧凑等优异种质700余份,累计向全国提供种质利用30000余份次。

研究方向2:芝麻与特色油料作物遗传育种
  主要开展育种理论和方法的研究,结合常规育种技术与现代分子育种技术,通过有性杂交、理化诱变、杂优利用、株型改良、抗逆鉴定和分子标记辅助选择等多种途径,培育高产、抗逆、优质、适应轻简化种植的芝麻、蓖麻等作物新品种,已育成芝麻、蓖麻品种37个。其中芝麻品种覆盖我国江淮流域产区达40%以上。培育的芝麻品种中芝9号、中芝11、中芝12、中芝13分别获湖北省科技进步奖奖励。

研究方向3:芝麻与特色油料重要性状基因发掘
  主要开展芝麻与特色油料重要性状的遗传解析和关键基因鉴定,为优异种质的精准发掘和分子设计育种提供理论和技术支撑。完成了芝麻第一张物理图谱绘制和结构解析,明确了全基因组等位变异,构建了第一张芝麻单倍型图谱和3张高密度遗传连锁图谱,定位耐湿、抗旱、株高、含油量、雄性不育等性状基因位点600多个,首次定位到1个芝麻矮化基因位点,鉴定出调控种子含油量新基因SiPPO和SiNST1,获得66个耐湿和10个抗旱候选基因,初步解析了芝麻高油、核雄性不育及蓖麻性别分化的分子基础。
