The laboratory aims at enhancing productivity and profitability of oil crops by developing integrated production approaches on the basis of extensive investigations on plant physiology, soil science, plant nutrition and plant pathology. Achievements have been obtained in rapeseed high yielding cultivation, diagnosis and amendment of nutrient deficiency in soybean, integrated control of sclerotinia rot in rapeseed, management of peanut virus, soybean rust and peanut bacterial wilt.

Rapeseed high yielding cultivation techniques in central China was awarded with third class of National Sci-Tech Progress Award.
